Veronica Osorio is a third person writer who's gonna tell you, like, the STORY of her life, be warned!
VENEZUELA
Veronica is Florida born, Venezuelan-raised comedian. Came out of a half Italian half black vagina and was made with a mix of blonde-hair-green-eyes Venezuelan sperm. That's right her parents are mad mixed and so is she, long story short: She had Italian upbringing, Venezuelan surroundings and American comedy taste.
While in Venezuela, Veronica learned English mostly by watching too much TV with subtitles, particularly SNL, News Radio and Seinfeld. Also by obsessively translating Jagged Little Pill to try to figure out what the heck Alanis was talking about. She still doesn't know.
Veronica started taking theater classes at a public library kids program at age 10 and never stopped. As a teenager she joined Skena Theater Company and was nominated as Best Supporting Actress to two Venezuelan awards you've never heard of but were a big deal for her.
Mrs. Osorio studied Social Communications and specialized in Film Production and Screenwriting. At the same time she was picked by four professional theater companies:
Worked in a TV and Film Production House called Alter and broke up with her boyfriend due to lack of time (also he became a kid's party magician, no thanks).
Veronica also became the director and teacher of Skena Teen Company and wrote a musical play with her writing crush and mentor Prakriti Maduro for this Company.
NEW YORK
Veronica in Taita Boves
After having booked a lead role the Award Winning full-length Venezuelan film Taita Boves by the fantastic Luis Alberto Lamata, Veronica ventured to NYC with no family, friends and a small fortune of $0, yeah ZERO because in Venezuela you can't exchange currency into other currencies in the world. She managed to exchange her Venezuelan money (Bolívares) into black market priced dollar$ (losing most of it in the exchange) and was accepted to a Fall trimester at Stella Adler Studio Of Acting.
As she was navigating the intensity of actors-who-are-not-comedic, Veronica started going to the free shows at the UCB Theater and fell in love with it so, naturally, she spent ALL HER BLACK MARKET FOOD $ ON UCB CLASSES! Best money ever spent and coldest/hungriest time of her life. Her dad still doesn't get it.
